The W250 provides 250 watts of laser power capable of welding dissimilar metals. The moving XY table provides precise control in accuracy and speed, to ensure good welds with a high ratio of welding depth to spot diameter in a thing welding seam with a small heat affected area causing the least thermal distortion. Typically, the welding seam is smooth, therefore there is little or no need to polish the seam after welding is completed. The welding seam typically is of high quality with no gas bubbles left behind. This process is easily automated for repeated welds.
